I am a public health professional with over eight years of experience working at the interface of research, policy, and service organisation in the fields of ageing and long-term care. I am guided by a commitment to bridge research and practice by translating evidence into implementable action and ensuring that insights from real-world service delivery inform academic and policy thinking.
I most recently worked with the World Health Organization Country Office for India as a Technical Officer- Healthy Ageing, where I supported the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the planning and implementation of the National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly and in advancing priorities under the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030). I also served within a WHO-India field unit as a Surveillance Medical Officer for vaccine-preventable diseases, where I applied spatial data science to support sub-national disease surveillance, outbreak response, immunisation planning, and evidence-informed decision-making.
Earlier, I worked as a Public Health Consultant with a regional government, contributing to the design and implementation of large-scale public health interventions across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of care. These included initiatives related to SDG-3, ageing and long-term care, palliative care, noncommunicable diseases, occupational and environmental health, blood services, and health services for gender minorities; as well as the development of home-based care models delivered through public service systems.
I hold an Advanced Master’s in Global Health from the University of Milan, a Masters degree in Public Health from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, India.
Within the HOMeAGE, my doctoral work examines care/support contextual and individual factors- including digital technologies- preventing (spatial) exclusion of frail older people and support development of new digital health modalities enabling ageing in place.
