Marie Curie Doctoral Network – HOMeAGE Training Event 5

February 5, 2026 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

The next HOMeAGE Training Event will take place in Brussels, Belgium between 3rd and 6th February 2026. As a part of this fifth HOMeAGE Training Event we will be making sessions on February 5th open to the public.

Background and Purpose: Research on ageing and place is highly needed, but without a focus on translating findings into real-world change, scholars miss important opportunities for meaningful impact. Drawing on contributions from international scholars (e.g. Prof. Tannistha Samanta, FLAME University & Prof. Laurent Reyes, UC Berkeley) and practice experts (e.g. Dr. Claudia Mahler, Independent Expert on the Enjoyment of all Human Rights by Older Persons & Alice Pittini, Housing Europe), this public lecture and training event will discuss potential pathways for fostering impact through engagement with the UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, strengthened collaborations between researchers and policymakers in tackling the housing crisis, cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary perspectives and decolonial approaches in ageing research. The event is intended for researchers, as well as practitioners and policymakers who are looking to collaborate with the academic sector to increase impact.
