SUMMARY:Advancing Research and Training on Ageing\, Place and Home
DESCRIPTION:Ageing in place is critical to the future of ageing societies\, and fundamental to older people’s longer-term health and wellbeing outcomes. Yet\, there are significant concerns that efforts are failing to support ageing in place\, and failing to engage with critical challenges regarding needs and systems\, home and belonging\, and rights and voice as we age in place. This lecture and training event will explore our research and policy understanding of these and other ageing in place challenges. Drawing on contributions from international scholars and policy experts\, these sessions will address: (1) the conceptualisation of ageing in place in contemporary societies; (2) socio-economic determinants of remaining in place; (3) spatial justice and age-friendly policy for heterogeneous groups; and (4) critical thinking in international policy and scholarly debates on ageing in place. \nRegister here for the public event.  The full programme is available here.
