SUMMARY:Marie Curie Doctoral Network – HOMeAGE Training Event 4
DESCRIPTION:The next HOMeAGE Training Event will take place in Utrecht\, Netherlands between 8th and 11th April 2025. As a part of this fourth HOMeAGE Training Event we will be making sessions on April 9th open to the public. \n\n\nHOMeAGE Public Lecture and Training Sessions on Ageing in Place: Rights and Voice \n\n\nBackground and Purpose – Current European and national policies often fail to sufficiently represent the voice of older people and address their right to age in place. There is an absence of multistakeholder integrative frameworks for the development of equitable and effective policy\, leading to weaknesses in holistic responses\, ageist discourses\, and threats to rights (dignity; freedom; equality). Existing approaches homogenise older populations across policy areas such as digitalisation\, care and social inclusion\, neglecting the diversity of where they live and the needs\, agency and rights violations of those in different social groups. Drawing on contributions from international scholars and practice experts\, this lecture and training event will explore challenges and opportunities in relation to supporting the rights and voices of diverse older populations\, in diverse contexts. \nLink to the Public Programme is here \nRegister for the event here

SUMMARY:Marie Curie Doctoral Network – HOMeAGE Training Event 5
DESCRIPTION:The next HOMeAGE Training Event will take place in Brussels\, Belgium between 3rd and 6th February 2026. As a part of this fifth HOMeAGE Training Event we will be making sessions on February 5th open to the public. \nBackground and Purpose: Research on ageing and place is highly needed\, but without a focus on translating findings into real-world change\, scholars miss important opportunities for meaningful impact. Drawing on contributions from international scholars (e.g. Prof. Tannistha Samanta\, FLAME University & Prof. Laurent Reyes\, UC Berkeley) and practice experts (e.g. Dr. Claudia Mahler\, Independent Expert on the Enjoyment of all Human Rights by Older Persons & Alice Pittini\, Housing Europe)\, this public lecture and training event will discuss potential pathways for fostering impact through engagement with the UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons\, strengthened collaborations between researchers and policymakers in tackling the housing crisis\, cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary perspectives and decolonial approaches in ageing research. The event is intended for researchers\, as well as practitioners and policymakers who are looking to collaborate with the academic sector to increase impact. \nLink to the Public Programme is here \nRegister for the event here
